  This unit is designed to help 8th grade students develop an understanding of the metric and English systems of measurement. Its purpose is to help them discover the need for a universal system as well as the basic fundamentals of each.

UNIT OBJECTIVES

By the end if this unit the students will have:

  • Been introduced to the basics of the English and metric system
  • Practiced using basic English and metric units in measuring distance,weight and volume
  • Participated in estimating activities involving the metric and English system in distance, weight and volume.
